 I was born and raised in Napa, CA. My love for many genera’s of music started at a young age as I was driven to get my hands into any music event I could possibly find! Soon, I found my self singing all over the community as a band singer, lead vocalist in a capella groups, and a solo performer at many weddings, parties, and events.
A music major at Rick’s college, I studied voice, violin, and guitar which helped broaden my knowledge and love for music. As a leader in AWS, an on campus women’s leadership group, and with song writer Abby Jackson, we recorded the original, Be Loyal to the Royal Within you, sold for Rick’s college women’s week. Seeing how this song about the plan of salvation brought inspiration to so many, it continued to light that fire and love for music within my heart.
I graduated from Utah Valley State College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I love teaching children! As a school teacher, I loved watching how the influence of good music increased children’s love for life and learning.
I served an LDS mission to Cleveland, Ohio and to my great joy, found myself a tour guide in the Kirtland Historical sights for 6 months. Singing the hymns, and learning their historical background became a magical and truly spiritual experience. The other sisters and I witnessed many peoples lives literally change in the community as they felt the spirit of the hymns. We became the singing sisters! We sang at any and every event we could! I saw hearts melt, walls come down, and eyes open to the truths of the gospel. This continued my fire and desire to share the hymns with others through their pure spirit. This is the vision for my debut album, Hymns from the Heart.
I learned of the power and peace that come from listening to the hymns in their purest form, and want to share them with the world! I believe the hymns can console, comfort and teach with great inspiration like nothing else can.
I currently live in Orem, Utah with my amazingly supportive husband James, and are thrilled to be expecting our first child. I hope you will enjoy the contemplative spirit you will feel from these hymns from my heart.
